Could anything suck more than being devastated by something completely out of your control? We’re thinking about the poor people involved in the San Bruno tragedy. Imagine you and over 40 other homeowners enjoying an evening in the house only to have it, your neighborhood and your life destroyed by a faulty PG&E gas line. WTF.

What if you are a survivor or family member or a victim and read this statement, issued by PG&E, late Thursday night (via the NBC LA website):

“If it is ultimately determined that we were responsible for the cause of the incident, we will take accountability.”

PG&E said their thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this “terrible situation.” It’s good that PG&E issued a statement and didn’t keep quiet…but it’s crisis time.

The PG&E lawyers are scrambling as the first line is practically an admission. And guys, we all take responsibility, not accountability. This is a simple statement, and all you need to say:

“We are looking into this devastating incident to determine the cause. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those affected by the disaster.”

We’re praying for you San Bruno. What a crappy card dealt by life.
