Here’s an excerpt from TGPR Partner Susan Tellem’s recently published article, The Vatican Speaks Out, or Does It?, on CommPRO.biz:
A little history…About 50 years ago, the Vatican established the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. There’s a daily bulletin http://www.vatican.va/news_services/index.htm but, alas, it is in Italian. There’s also radio programming which can be ordered up in English, as well as a lovely photo archive. There are several twitter accounts @PCCS_VA mostly in Italian but some English, and the Pope’s own twitter account @Pontivex, which is currently suspended while we elect a new Pope. The joke one still is alive and well, however.
None of this truly matters if Catholics throughout the world aren’t getting truthful and transparent media information through normal daily channels like print and broadcast media in their own countries.
