Braille Institute Hosts Golf Event for Blind, Visually Impaired

maxresdefaultClient Braille Institute‘s Rancho Mirage chapter will hold its 5th Annual Golf Tournament for Braille Institute students at Suncrest Country Club today in Palm Desert.

Adult students of all ages will enjoy a day of golf, complete with trophies and a luncheon. The entire event is unwritten by Dick Gilchrist, an active volunteer with Braille Institute who lives with vision loss due to macular degeneration, and other members of the Country Club. The golfers range from those with total blindness to others with limited vision. Some have never golfed before. Each golfer will be paired with a sighted guide throughout the event.  The event coincides with the LPGA ANA Inspiration Tour in town at the same time.
