TGPR Partner Susan Tellem was on the Pope’s media advance team for the 1987 visit of John Paul II to Los Angeles. She credentialed nearly 3,000 media. There was no social media and the Internet was emerging as newspapers, magazines, radio and TV were the way people still got their news.
Fast forward 28 years and the Pope’s visit to the East Coast was social media on steroids.
