California Poison Control Rattlesnake Press Briefing

Client Since 2010

CPCS zoo press eventAbout: CPCS is largest of the 50 states poison centers and is dedicated to providing residents with the most up-to-date information and 24-hour help in case of poisoning. Pharmacists, nurses, physician-toxicologists and poison information providers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help.
Assignment: TGPR teamed with the Los Angeles Zoo to create a media press briefing to educate California residents to be aware of rattlesnakes that are waking up earlier from hibernation because of the warm weather. Experts predicted that 2014 had the potential of greater snake infestation as result of heavy rains a few years ago. It was also important to reach non-English speaking residents.
Key Accomplishments: Many reporters and TV stations covered the press briefing, including Los Angeles Times; Pasadena Star News, SF Gate, Southern California Wildlife LA Daily News/Redlands Daily Facts/Inland Valley Daily Bulletin/San Gabriel Valley Tribune/Press Telegram and San Jose Mercury News; photographers from Los Angeles Daily News and Associated Press; TV stations KNBC, KTLA, KMIR, KCET, Fox11, KABC, KBS (Korean) and NTX (Chinese).
Social Media: TGPR provides day to day support and posts for both the English and Spanish Facebook pages and Twitter, as well as growing the SMS text messaging.
