CASA Los Angeles – Opening Night Benefit of Annie at Pantages Theatre
About: CASA of Los Angeles supports volunteers called Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) who help abused and neglected foster children in court and the community.
Assignment: TGPR created a special event to raise awareness of CASA with the intent of bringing more volunteers into the system. Through our entertainment division’s relationship with Broadway Across America, we arranged to hold an opening night benefit for CASA at the Hollywood premiere of “Annie,” the perfect match given the show’s subject matter of an orphan in search of a home.
Key Accomplishments: Bruce Willis, a national spokesperson for foster kids agreed to host the evening along with fellow actor and foster child Antwone Fisher. Pierce Brosnan, Robert and Leslie Zemeckis and Thomas Tull agreed to co-chair. A stellar event committee included Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cindy Crawford, Danny DeVito, Anne Heche, Russell Simmons, Salma Hayak and Sarah Jessica Parker.Major coverage included Access Hollywood and ET/The Insider; Los Angeles Times and Daily News; People Magazine. Numerous online postings and pictures of stars at the event were featured on major entertainment websites and entertainment segments of major news organizations.
