National Tour: 45 Cities
About: In 1984, Chip Davis created Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, the top-selling Christmas artist of all time. The live holiday show has toured the country for more than 25 years. The show features modern interpretations of holiday music favorites.
Assignment: TGPR was hired to promote the 2008 Christmas tour and help increase tickets sales via media coverage. Major challenges included it being the first year that two Mannheim bands toured simultaneously; it was also the first time Davis would not be part of the company as he was recovering from surgery. Additionally, competition was fierce with the increasing popularity of the Trans Siberian Orchestra’s holiday tour.
Key Accomplishments: The tours were such a success that in some cases, dates needed to be added to meet ticket demand. Top tier radio stations and major dailies across the U.S. covered the show, including the Ledger Inquirer (Columbus, GA), Charlotte Observer (Charlotte), The Telegraph (St. Louis), St. Augustine Record(Jacksonville) and Grand Rapids Press (Grand Rapids).
