Dear TGPR people.
As you are experts and pretty vocal here on WordPress I wonder if you would care to join a fledgling debate I am starting that is linked to a book I have coming out about the art behind PR and MARKETING.
Why get involved? The term ‘spin’ is almost definitely the next word your average Joe or Jo would contemptuously spit out in a game of word association in which the previous word or phrase was PR or marketing! I am sure it is similar in the US, here in the UK, practitioners are probably ranked alongside politicians or real estate agents as people you could not trust with such a delicate bauble as the truth.
Yet there are many examples of our work in which the quality of thinking and execution have been elevated into an art like form. A form that could be called P-ART. This book intends to demonstrate excellence in our profession to a wide audience – not just other professionals. The book will be part educational, part historical reference and part showcase featuring lots of compelling imagery.
It would be good to get your input/ recommendations or just plain old comments. I have started a {new} blog which gives further guidance as to the thinking behind the submissions I am looking for.
